Brisbane rocks but on to Maroochydore

Met up with Ralph in Brisbane. He works at the Queensland Rugby Club which is a quite upmarket club right on the Brisbane River with fantastic views. Fortunately they were closed and just Ralph, myself and some of his work mates were there, so free beers!!! We then progressed to "The Pineapple Bar" with a one man live gig. This guy was awesome singing and playing Jimmy Barnes, Pearl Jam and all good stuff! Ralphs work mates were all early 20s so pushed the drinking pace hard! Lucky I am well conditioned!! lol From the Pineapple Bar we went to "The Valley" That is the place in the Brisbane CBD where all the raging night clubs are. It was like something out of Kings Cross or Soho. Lots of gay bars and radically dressed people. Eventually I staggered back to my van and slept right where it was parked. A camper van is so good for when you drink. I may have to get one to take to snooker on Thursday nights lol
Spent the day in Brizzy until I finally felt well enough to drive and then set off to The Sunshine Coast. Tonight I am staying at Cotton Tree Caravan Park in Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast. They are not busy so they gave me a beachfront site. As I write I am parked looking out over the water with the sunset. It is just after 5pm but getting quite dark. It seems to get dark early here. The day was lovely and I swam and lay in the sun (probably getting sick of hearing that)
Nice to have power, internet and a hot shower. I will probably stay here another day but out on the street to save money. The beach is curved so at my end I am completly blocked from the wind. There are lots of kite surfers zooming around providing spectacular viewing.
Looking forward to a quiet night with NO alcohol.

Great to have worked out how to get into the blogs. What does lol mean? Have just come back from bowls in tauranga 3 day tournament, blew the last game but won 5 of our 8 games. Beat the top runner in the 7th game!!!!! Started today in 4C blooody cold! Lying on the beach in the sun sounds good to me.
